To Glory Gardens

Yesterday I said, "I will be glad when tomorrow is over."

This morning I say, "I am looking forward to this morning."

Tomorrow I wonder what I will say.

I agreed to help out with the second graders (or is it first?) at Glory Gardens with their field trip.

Master Gardening hours will be collected and I need those for recertification in 2026.

Linda asked me to volunteer for these few hours as we attended our March garden club meeting.

I hesitatingly said, "Well, last year I didn't have a specific job so just floated around unneeded."

She responded as she held a paper butterfly on a stick, "This year you will be coloring with the kids."

"Ok, that sounds fun!"  My calendar was marked.

I am going to wear my barely-worn green Junior Master Gardening t-shirt and leave home about 7:45 this morning.

Glory Gardens is a neighborhood garden in Kerrville, TX and has a very impressive support system.

I will enjoy walking about the various raised garden beds that are rented by locals for a reasonable price.

Fertilizer, shovels, probably even seeds are all donated and available to the renters. It's a real deal.

Linda lives nearby and has become active with the group. She is in charge of today's itinerary for the 100 or more children that are coming. They will move from station to station with a calculated map, etc.

And so we will imagine the most beautiful butterfly ever colored, I shall meet and enjoy these young visitors to Glory Gardens.

.....and their dedicated teachers.....and then, be grateful I am retired as I drive home for lunch
