Chasing Wildflowers

I am thoroughly enjoying writing three lines each early morning. The prompts are invigorating. This is a Maya Stein month-long class. Maya Stein

Today's prompt is effortful/effortless and I am obsessing about buying and planting wildflower seeds.

Yesterday the recently purchased small battery operated roto tiller revealed solid limestone a few inches below the surface of my backyard. A neighbor spoke of the previous owner and the many bags of soil she used to grow her sunflowers and zinnias. That might just be the solution.

Today after Bible Study I shall initiate my weekly tour of Lowe's to find the seeds and soil. According to the West Kerr local newspaper article I should be planting these seeds now.

“It’s easy being green”

(inspired by (41) Sesame Street: It's Easy Being Green - YouTube)

Meanwhile it’s predawn and not even the stars are aware, awake, brightening my sky. I feel this part of the universe belongs only to me as I meander with thoughts of the upcoming day, write a haiku, study my spiritual awakening lesson and then the day begins.

Meanwhile I spend time reflecting, seriously reflecting as my life unfolds before me, totally my own doing. It won’t always be up to me, or will it? Will the days for the remaining decade or two be self-determined? Will the accomplishments or lack therein be of my design?

Meanwhile I think the dishwasher is now working. The top drawer has to be lifted up so it connects with the water intake in the rear. Really? The intake has to be clicked into?

Meanwhile my mind is thinking about Robert, the neighbor behind us up the hill that got so excited last night about his aquaponic gardening quest that I came in the house and googled the hobby.

Meanwhile my coffee is delicious.

The above prompts were "spinach" and "meanwhile" from two different online classes I subscribed to this month.

A Balanced Life

My daily haiku this morning using the prompts: awake or asleep.

I am taking a month-long class call "Tri-Write" with Maya Stein. It is absolutely the best! I awaken each morning eager to see her daily prompt for writing three lines. I jump in with eagerness. I am simultaneously also taking a serious haiku class with Alan in England, "Call of the Page."

Yep! You guessed it! I write a haiku to the best of my current ability each morning, sometimes I'm the first to post which is ok with me this month. Usually I wait for others to post, but why?

It's a poetry rodeo for me!!

I just signed up for a $179 class with Maya beginning mid-October. Her platform is user friendly, responds to emails and this "Tri-Write" has been an all-time favorite. We'll see what evolves with the more expensive commitment I just made. Oh, it's so easy to click and sign up. I think I just got under the wire for her discount.

Gotta' dig into my Bible study now....

Blessings to all!

Thankful!

We got it! The 2003 Airstream Bambi is mine and I am thrilled. Here we are pulling out of the Boise storage shed where we retrieved it following the $$$ transaction at a nearby Wells Fargo. We're off to spend our first night (and maybe two) in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. The sellers have been more than kind to us.

It's ours and now we have to learn the switches and the mechanisms that keep this Airstream alive. We are heading back to Texas via a stopover in Vernal, Utah and a stopover in Estes Park with my brother and then a stopover in _________.

Isn't it a beauty? And the interior is impeccable, unscratched, light woodwork and, well, just yummy.

Chat again soon as we're on the road again!

Airstream Owner Almost

September 6, 2023

I am close to being a Bambi Airstream owner. We have traveled these past three days approximately 1500 miles or more from Texas to Boise, Idaho. I found the Airstream I desired here in Boise this past summer. My deposit was given in July and now we are back to pick it up, staying in motels which is an unusual treat or trauma depending on the situation. This morning as I type, the room and free breakfast  are delightful. Yesterday morning, not quite the same.

We will meet the folks selling this beautiful small classic 2003 Airstream in a few hours at Wells Fargo to financially seal the deal. Then truck over to the storage unit, hook it up and we're off to travel back to Texas. It is not certain if we will spend tonight at Brother Bob's in front of his house.

As I type, my heart beats a bit faster and my fingers are nervously tapping. This will undoubtedly be my last foray into rv ownership. Listing those rvs include:

1)  a 5th wheel Scamp which I called my Barbie mobile

2) an older pink and turquoise motorhome

3) a Casita

then nothing but a truck shell. Once the trailer "bug" bit again, I bought...

4) a darling r-pod that was their first model, small and sweet. That was sold in 2013 and then I went financially into the big stream with

5) a brand new Class C motorhome

6) In 2021 I traded the Class C for a 30' new Transcend trailer. This was our home away from home for the summer months as I volunteered in Idaho state parks.

7) And here we are in 2023, the Transcend trailer on the consignment lot with a large monetary loss and the Airstream to be purchased TODAY.

I am making the full circle from small to big to bigger to smaller to smallest. And so let those tires roll!!
