hitches up her bookmobile,
supporting many children’s
literary ladders.
to be blessed the hummers
delight in their sugar water,
brewed for spectators and
feathered acquaintances all.
to be blessed is to wait
expectantly, anticipating with
faithful fascination for the iris
to casually unfold.
